How does a democracy really work? What is it like when all members of a community are given autonomy? How do we make agreements? How do we consent, and eventually, how do we dissent? Withdraw our consent? How do we say yes and no, together?
This short 8 minute work was an exploration of community and communication, specifically how we create conditions for consent and agreement, and dissent and disagreement. After creating this work, I realize that there is much more movement research to be done on the subject, and I hope to find an opportunity to explore further. This work was created for and performed at San Diego Dance Theater's Young Choreographer's Showcase 2017.
